In this video, Michelle Sun, founder of First Code Academy, sits down for a digital chat with Hillary Yip, a 15-year-old who created an app called MinorMynas for kids to facilitate language learning opportunities through live video calls and conversations. The app allows kids to learn different languages from one another.

Hillary was one of the youngest CEOs in the world when she first launched her app when she was 10. Since then, the language learning app is now available in over 60 countries, garnering over 65,000+ downloads. Today, Hillary and her team are developing version two of MinorMynas, intending to create a more improved language sharing platform that connects kids from all over the world.

Hillary shares how she was inspired to launch her app after winning the 2015 AIA Emerging Entrepreneur award, the obstacles she faced during the beginning of launching the app, what it’s like to be a teen CEO, and her advice for aspiring young tech entrepreneurs. We hope that you like this episode! We are inspired and in awe of Hillary’s ambition in creating a platform that provides a positive and comfortable peer-to-peer learning experience for children. We’re looking forward to the upcoming launch of MinorMynas V2.
